These 18-watt UV sterilization lamp fixtures do not have our filter glass installed - these are clear glass lamps. They emit powerful UltraViolet UV-C light. Please scroll down to the section "How to Use a Dose Table" for more information.
The single tube/bulb/lamp unit is about 15" long, 3" wide, and 3" high (385 mm x 76 mm x 76 mm) with a black powder-coated finish. The handle adds an additional 2.5" (64 mm) to the height. The unit also has a built-in fan to cool the tube/bulb/lamp and "D" rings to hang the fixture. The AC and DC single units each weigh just under 3 pounds with the Universal input fixture being a little heavier at just over 3 pounds.
Dual and Triple 18 watt lamps come in the same box size approximately 10 3/8" x 5 9/16" x 7". The weight of the Universal input fixture is a little under 8 pounds and the other versions are less (The weight varies due to the components.)
The AC ballasts have a switch to select between 110-115 volts or 220-240 volts. Both The AC and DC ballasts feature a programmed start cycle that will energize tubes/bulbs/lamps for an average of 50-60,000 on/off cycles before burning out the tube/bulb/lamp. The DC ballasts feature a rapid start ballast that will energize tubes/bulbs/lamps for an average of 12-15,000 on/off cycles before burning out the tube/bulb/lamp. The tubes/bulbs/lamps have 4 pin 2G11 bases.
These lamp fixtures are available in 110-240 volt AC versions, 12 volt DC versions, and now Universal Power input (110/220 AC or 12 VDC) - Dual Input.
The same great output of our 18-watt lights is now available with greater versatility for power input. The Universal Power lights run on AC or DC voltage without the need for a separate external adapter. Universal input fixtures come with both AC and DC power cords. Simply plug in the IEC power cord or DC cord (Anderson connector) and select the power type using the rocker switch.
The ability of Ultraviolet light to kill microorganisms depends on multiple factors, including (but not limited to): the intensity of the UV source, the distance from the source to the microorganism, the exposure time, and the type of microorganism. Based on the UV output of this lamp listed above, you can refer to the following dose tables for an idea of exposure times for various microorganisms.
